HL Food Issue Launch

On 22 January 2014, House and Leisure invited select media and clients to celebrate the launch of the annual Food issue with a bespoke dinner overlooking the Asara wine estate in Stellenbosch. Guests we treated to canapés and white wine mojitos on arrival, made from Asara’s White Cab (white wine made from red grape varietal cabernet sauvignon), and were surprised with a pair of Havaianas, which were needed for the trek up to the dinner table, which was set in the vineyard. A refreshing pitstop and glass of MCC allowed guests to take in the views. A three-course meal, consisting of recipes featured in the Food issue, was created by chef Peter Gottgens. Seated between the vines, the table was beautifully decorated with fynbos paper flowers from Bespoke Flower World, as well as the ever-popular Consol Solar Jars with proteas and hurricane lanterns to set to mood. Guests we treated to a goodie bag containing Tea Merchant gourmet silk tea bags, Tribe Coffee beans, Chrisna's Smoked Olive Tapenade, a Le Creuset salt keeper and spatula spoon, Fine & Raw 78% cocoa chocolate bars, Helon Melon just add yoghurt bread, Crede Coconut oil and macadamia nut butter, Asara White Cab wine, Asara olive oil and, of course, a copy of the House and Leisure Food Issue. Special thanks to Asara, Havaianas, Consol and Bespoke Flower World. Photographs Greg Beadle
