Food Wine Design

The fourth annual Sanlam Investments Food Wine Design fair took place on Hyde Park Corner’s trendy rooftop from 8 - 10 November 2013, showcasing the very best that South Africans are producing in these three fields. Over 100 local exhibitors in the gourmet food, boutique wine and local design industries were celebrated at the event, which saw over 10 000 visitors attend over the three days. House and Leisure hosted the chic Atelier section, which highlighted the crafts of leather, yarn and print. Together with Feat Sock Co., HL partnered with three top South African designers, Lauren Fowler, Nicholas Christowitz and Sindiso 'R!ot' Nyoni, who were commissioned to design prints for their own pair of socks. A public competition was held and Johan Roos was named the winner of the sock design competition. These prints were produced and sold from the Feat Sock Co. stand in the Atelier section. Other highlights included Belle’s Patisserie’s range of sweet treats, a vast selection of whiskies and wines as well as curated traditional crafts and high-quality produce from the spectacular Route 62 region and beautifully showcased stalls by Colony Design, RAW, Missibaba and Skinny la Minx. Artlogic’s Italian hat stand, which featured iconic headwear by Inverni and Borsalino had heads turning while the girls drooled over jewellery by Pichulik, Olive Green Cat and Dear Rae.
