Don red, white and blue and make sure you’re a part of the popular Bastille Day celebrations in Jozi this weekend. HL‘s rounded up three spots to celebrate the occasion in style, so pick one or (even better) do all three and make it a weekend to remember.
Saturday 12 July 2014: Henley on Klip
Celebrate Bastille Day at The Kliphouse, Henley on Klip, with a unique pairing of scrumptious French cuisine, imported French wines and champagne as well as a live performance by local songbird Louise Carver. Tickets cost R850 (includes live performance, as well as the wine and food pairing experience) and are available from quicket.co.za. Doors open at 12pm.
Sunday 13 July 2014: Le Sel @ The Cradle
Take a drive out to the Cradle of Humankind and make your way to Le Sel @ The Cradle. Here, Chef Coco Reinarhz and Great Domaines will spoil your senses with a day of gourmet food and delicious imported French wines. The lunch spread will include authentic cheeses, baguettes and herbed butters, fresh green salads, terrines, tarts, roast lamb and roast venison, stuffed chicken and a dessert buffet that would make Marie Antoinette’s head spin. An enchanting selection of French wines will also be available for sale by the glass or by the bottle, courtesy of Great Domaines. Price per adult is R295 and R125 per child. This includes a welcome drink and lunch. Additional wine may be purchased. Gates open at 11am. To book, contact Coco Reinarhz on 011-659-1622 or send a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Monday 14 July 2014: Belle’s Patisserie
If you still want to celebrate Bastille Day but you’re on a middle-of-the-month budget mission, have no fear. Belle’s Patisserie is offering you the chance to enjoy all things French on July 14th. Pop into either of their stores (at the BluBird Centre or at Sandton City) and treat your taste buds to the most delicious selection of baguettes, pancake cakes, croissants, macaroons and more.
