Bistro 1800˚, at the Cape Royale Luxury Hotel, saw the launch of a brand new menu recently. Chef Bevan Webb and food and beverage manager, George Sakulias, combine local, fresh ingredients and innovation to present a menu that offers flavourful and uncomplicated dishes. Using seasonal produce, Bistro 1800˚ serves wholesome, bistro-style food. Its dishes are simple in essence, but nothing short of tasty. The restaurant’s name originates from the signature New York-style grill, which cooks the perfect steak at exactly 1800˚F. Other than the wide variety of specially selected succulent steaks, new dishes also include Grilled loin of Lamb; Phyllo baked Atlantic Salmon; Kingklip en papilote and Slow roast breast of duck. ‘There are many factors that come into play when compiling a menu’, says George. ‘Firstly, you have to decide on the concept that you would like to achieve and the identity of what you would like to establish. The concept created for Bistro 1800 ˚ is hearty, comfort food where the guests may treat themselves to an experience that is authentic, but homely.’ Before your meal, enjoy a sundowner at the VIP rooftop Sky Bar and pool deck. The bar offers panoramic views of the city, one that can be enjoyed while sipping on a cocktail (they have daily specials between 3pm and 6pm).
