Willowlamp showcases its art chandeliers in Australia
Travel 8,512km and you'll find yourself in illuminated splendour, with Willowlamp's recently installed bespoke chandelier pieces in the new Crown Perth Hotel. This award-wining South African company has designed and built the most impressive art chandeliers. Each work weighs three tonnes and has been installed on a seven metre ceiling. As the largest project to date from Willowlamp, architectural firm Bates Smart firm commissioned this company to design the lights for the hotel's lobby and the project was unveiled on the 15th of December.
Willowlamp inspired their designs with the simple idea of a curtain made up of ball-chain rows suspended from steel cut frames. Sacred geometry was at the heart of their designs. A unique yet artisanal focus is brought to light in each formation.
Headed up by the creative director and founder, Adam Hoets, the result is not not only a technical triumph, it is aesthetically breathtaking, too. The cluster lights reflect a feminine yet Eastern influence and the structure was based on a classic Willowlamp design Mandala No.1. Each light illuminates through 150 LED G9 lamps per cluster.
