The gallery will also host a solo exhibition of established artist Christiaan Conradie’s works. Artists exhibiting as part of the group exhibition in Salons A and B include Alta Stegman, Andrew Sutherland, Angela Banks, Audrey Anderson, Chris Valentine, Clint Reid, Daya Heller, Diana Hyslop, Dot Vermeulen, Faith 47, Gene Kierman, Janet Anderson, Jono Dry, Kate van Putten, Katrine Claassens, Mary-Anne Hampton, Pascale Desfontaines, Paul Senyol, Sandy Little, Sarah Pratt and Terry Angelos. Cape Town’s Paul Senyol will be live painting at the opening of the exhibition. He cites the skateboard culture and punk-rock music scene of the mid-nineties as some of his key influences. His often abstract works focuses heavily on colour, shape, line and composition. Salon C will house Christiaan Conradie’s solo exhibition of paintings and sketches. The exhibition opens at 7pm on 18 February at the Rust-en-Vrede Gallery, 10 Wellington Road, Durbanville and ends 13 March 2014. For more information, visit rust-en-vrede.com or their Facebook page.
