HL's decor editor Jeanne Botes spots the latest wallpaper trend that is quickly catching on around the globe... Since starting renovations on my house a few months ago and trawling the stores for wallpaper, I have become obsessed with trellis design wallpapers. Wallpaper is one of those things that can instantly transform a space and add personality without a lot of effort. I have always liked graphic wallpaper in particular and set out to find exactly that. Trellis designs have been seen throughout the history of wallpaper - I think William Morris's first wallpaper made use of a trellis design, but it became a strong trend once again with the recent interest in the Moroccan and Turkish motifs, colours and patterns. What I love about this trend is the bold geometric and symmetrical designs that remind me of beautiful Moroccan and Turkish tiles, ironwork or leadglass panels of churches. Strong colour or colour contrasts make this trend even more impactful. Let your wallpaper do the talking with any of these striking selections, which can all be found locally at Home Fabrics or St. Leger & Viney.
