What: Artisan Gallery Where: 344 Florida Road, Morningside, 031-312-4364 Featuring everything from fine arts to South Africa’s award winning ceramists, the 1920’s house is situated on the trendy Florida Road café strip and is a haven for art-browsers and collectors alike.
What: KZNSA Where: 166 Bulwer Road, Glenwood, 031-277-1705 KZNSA is an organisation that is over 100 years old, but don’t be fooled into thinking that their long standing heritage makes them old fashioned- they’re the province’s leading contemporary art gallery, hosting exhibitions that feature local and international artists.
What: Elizabeth Gordon Gallery Where: 120 Florida Road, Durban, 031-303-8133 Another must-see on the Florida Road-strip and one of KZN’s most prominent commercial art galleries. Housed in an Edwardian building, Elizabeth Gordon Gallery is a great source of original works from up-and-coming SA artists. Exhibitions are held on a regular basis.

What: Durban Art Gallery Where: 2nd Floor, City Hall, Anton Lembede Street, 031-311-2264 Located in the Durban CBD, the gallery not only houses a permanent and comprehensive collection of European, Eastern and African artwork from the 15th century, but also hosts traveling exhibitions of contemporary art pieces.
