Turn the Tables

Leonardo Tables By Design (formerly Leonardo Design) have launched a new collection of furniture, including a versatile range of side and coffee tables featuring intricate patterns and lattices that are both contemporary and elegant.

Designer Frank Brand says that he took inspiration for the mild steel-cut patterns from both architecture and nature. He also incorporates current trends, as seen with the Rectangles side tables (pictured above and on the left below), which feature rectangular cut-outs inspired by the long narrow windows seen in new buildings of late.

The Casablanca tables (front centre and front right) are inspired by the decorative elements of the Alhambra palace in Spain and the others, like the Stars and Crosses table (far back), Flower Petal table (back centre) and Williams table (right behind the Casablanca side table) take their cues from a hotel foyer wall and designs seen on fabrics respectively.

Each table is made from mild steel with metal tops and is epoxy coated. The versatility of the designs encourages endless placements options, including in both formal and informal environments and both inside and outside.
