Senzo Shabangu ‘Obsession’ Exhibition

Born in Mpumalanga in 1985, Senzo Shabangu moved to Johannesburg in 2006 and started studying printmaking at the Artist Proof Studios in Newtown. Once he had finished his studies, he exhibited at David Krut Projects in both 2011 and 2012. Inspired by topical social issues in South Africa, Senzo considers his third solo exhibition at David Krut Projects to be his real artistic breakthrough. Portrayals of protest action, the media and symbolic depictions of the poor’s struggle in society are integral to Senzo’s latest collection of work, which includes a range of linocuts, works on paper and sculptures. To view Senzo’s latest solo exhibition, visit David Krut Projects at 140 Jan Smuts Avenue, Parkwood, Johannesburg. The gallery is open from 9am until 5pm from Tuesdays until Fridays and from 9am until 4pm on Saturdays. For more information, email info-jhb@davidkrut.com or contact the gallery on 011-447-0627.
