Talented South African designer Nicole Levenberg‘s takes a unique approach to textile design. With a background in fine art, Nicole decided to view each print as a one-off art piece, ultimately blurring the line between art and decor. Having recently graduated from the Central Saint-Martins School of Design in London after working on international brands like Anthropologie and Alexander McQueen, this will be her first solo exhibition since her graduation. Nicole often tries to push the boundaries between print-making and fine art, and her work is described as quirky and surreal. She combines digital printing, silk-screening, pigment hand-painting and biro mark-making techniques in her pieces. The exhibition, Sample (I-VIII) will showcase the full scope of her experimental and mixed media work and will even include some custom pieces she created in collaboration with local designers like Dokter and Misses. The exhibition opens on 11 May and runs until 1 June 2014 at NIROX Projects in Joburg. For more information, visit their Facebook page.
