Into the blue
Posted: 09 June 2017
Previously on Top Shelf, we remembered Miranda Priestly's famous monologue in The Devil Wears Prada about the importance of cerulean in the fashion industry. Similarly, colormatters.com, a colour psychology website led by colour professor Jill Morton, compiled a list of interesting global patterns that highlight the significance of blue – such as the fact that it is most people's favourite colour and that 53% of the world's flags contain blue. From navy accent walls to blue mosaics, the colour is big in interiors, too. So how can you incorporate this statement hue into your home? Get inspired by Patrizia Moroso's alluring abode, which we recently featured in House and Leisure's June Design issue. As the owner and creative director of Italian furniture manufacturer Moroso, Patrizia has a keen eye for trends, and her home is a perfect example of how to boldy introduce colour into your living space. We're not talking about merely buying a vibrant scatter cushion or throw, mind you. From chairs and sofas to rugs and artwork, Patrizia's styling proves that full-on blue can be moody and majestic. To help you get the look, we've compiled a wish list of beautiful blue buys below.
