Renowned couturier Elie Saab creates exquisite red-carpet gowns – and when it came to producing a collection of elegant rugs for The Rug Company
, he drew on his personal passion for architecture and interiors to develop designs inspired by the signature elements of his style: a fusion of femininity, luxury and modernity.
The Rug Company regularly collaborates with fashion designers to create rugs that allow their individual aesthetic to shine through, and the Elie Saab range takes its direction from themes that recur within the house’s designs: foliage, floral motifs, texture and abstraction.
In Bloom features oversized florals in shimmering silk tones of teal, gunmetal and green. Challenging the traditional format of a rug, the blooms burst from both ends of the rug and reach for its centre. Lace Leaves translates the delicate motifs prevalent in Saab’s work into rug form: abstract leaves in raised silk yarns float on a matte wool background of the same hue. The Brushstrokes design is an abstraction of painterly movements, with many subtle colours at play that gently merge together in glimmering silk yarns.
The Elie Saab rugs are expertly handcrafted by The Rug Company’s weavers in Nepal, and the collection is available exclusively from The Rug Company’s showrooms worldwide.
