Living by the maxim ‘print the world’, London-based print and fashion studio Eley Kishimoto produces work that is simply executed and clear in intention, with a unique flair that eschews passing trends. Since the partnership began in the early ’90s, the brand has gained a strong reputation and has appeared on the world’s catwalks via work with Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen.
Although initially a producer of fashion collections, Eley Kishimoto now decorates anything and everything, leading to its collaboration with British interiors brand Kirkby Design. Combining Eley Kishimoto’s bold prints with Kirkby Design’s defining colour palette has led to a luxury fabric and wallcovering collection that is modern yet timeless.
This creative initiative channels the confidence of 1970s design while simultaneously bringing in an original modern twist, and features luxe textiles as bold and graphic as they are tactile and sophisticated – the quintessentially playful style of Eley Kishimoto’s original artworks has been expertly translated by Kirkby Design into intricately woven jacquards, épingle weaves and eye-catching printed velvets as well as shimmering, reflective and flocked wallcoverings.
The collection is now available from Romo South Africa.
