Concrete creations

The winners of the annual PPC Imaginarium Awards will soon be announced. A total of 47 finalists  from across the country have been chosen for their concrete creations in sculpture, fine art, industrial design, jewellery design, fashion and film.

Hailing from Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria and Johannesburg, these finalists await the announcement of the winners in their respective categories, to be announced at the Young Blood Gallery in Cape Town on Thursday 4 February.

The Imaginarium Awards was started by PPC to encourage creativity and innovation and ultimately create more sustainable communities for young and emerging artists to continue their work.

Participants are required to use Portland cement-based concrete in their creations, which are also required to be original and have a strong conceptual basis.

Look out for the winners announcements here tonight (4 February).
