‘A Void In The Landscape’ Exhibition

Seven internationally recognised artists will exhibit some of their best work at the Clos Malverne Wine Estate for the ‘A Void in the Landscape’ exhibition. Hosted in conjunction with the North-West University Gallery in Potchefstroom, the estate's garden and restaurant will be transformed into an art gallery with both paintings and sculptures on display. Renowned artist Strijdom van der Merwe, best known for his symmetrical lines and geometric shapes, will erect an impressive installation in the vineyards. His work has been celebrated all over the world, having received both the Jackson Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant in the USA and Medal of Honour from the South African Academy of Arts and Science. Other celebrated sculptors Wilma Cruise, Marco Cianfanelli and Gordon Froud will also exhibit their works at the estate. Paintings by artists Rina Stutzer, Retha Buitendach and Pauline Gutter will adorn Clos Malverne’s restaurant where guests can also enjoy lunch prepared by Chef Nadia Louw Smith. The ‘A Void in the Landscape exhibition’ will run from 5 October 2013 until the end of January 2014 at the Clos Malverne Wine Estate in the Devon Valley. The Restaurant at Clos Malverne is open daily for lunch except on Mondays. Bookings are essential. For reservations contact Clos Malverne 021-865-2022 or email info@closmalverne.co.za.
