The University of Cape Town’s Master of Architecture class is heading to Morocco on a research trip in June and they’ve arranged a silent art auction as part of their fundraising efforts.
From 20 May 2014 at 5:30pm, the public is invited to The Bank in Harrington Street. Here, they will have the opportunity to bid for nearly 100 creative works produced by the 30 Masters students based on the theme ‘urban projections’.
The theme has encouraged the students to base their creations on the perceptions of their home city and ideas around its history, its people and its future. Most of the students have based their projects in and around Cape Town, continuously reading their personal values and understandings into the city through their architectural imaginations. The format of the student work is a 20cm x 20cm frame.
The 20×20 art auction will also feature works donated by professional architects and artists.
