The concept behind the 12 Rooms exhibition is an exciting one! Twelve of South Africa’s top designers and decorators each got a room to convert into a decor masterpiece.
Specialising in upholstery pieces, Leon at CCXIX is renowned for their craftsmanship, and will therefore host the exhibition at their showroom. They are also strong promoters of local talent.
The participating designers include (in alphabetical order):
Francois du Plessis, Gregory Mellor, Karen Robert, Kyle Roux, Laduma Ngxokolo (fashion designer for Maxhosa knitwear label), Michele Throssell, Nicola Townsend, Pim Verdoorn, Salome Gunther, Sarah Ord, Sprout Design (consisting of Sam Lurie and Peter Gordon) and Sumari Krige
Black Fabrics, Hertex and Home Fabrics have sponsored all fabric and wall coverings.
The exhibition will be open to the public from the beginning of June until the end of August 2014.
Entry is free and all items in the rooms are available to purchase. Proceeds from the sale of all the upholstery items made by Leon at CCXIX will be donated to a local charity.
12 Rooms will take place at the Leon at CCXIX showroom situated at 219 Albert Road, Woodstock. The exhibition will run Monday to Thursday from 9am until 4pm, on Fridays from 9am until 3pm and on Saturdays from 9:30am until 1pm.
