Tokara Olive Oil Rated Among Best In The World
Tokara olive oil has garnered global acclaim: it has been included in Flos Olei 2020, an international guide to the world's best extra virgin olive oils.
Located in the heart of the Cape winelands, Tokara is a family-owned wine and olive oil farm, and is renowned for its thriving vineyards and olive grove that continue to garner international attention.
Tokara recently became the only South African olive oil producer to be ranked on the prestigious awards list in Flos Olei 2020 guide and won 'The Best' award for its premium extra virgin olive oil as the top blended oil in the Light and Fruity category.
Flos Olei is a comprehensive annually published guide to extra virgin olive oils and lists 720 different oils from 500 of the best producers across the world. It holds an authoritative position in terms of judging the quality of olive oils, making it a coveted list on which to be featured for olive farmers everywhere.
The international guide is available in three languages: English, Chinese and Italian; and serves as a benchmark for premier extra virgin olive oil producers.
Tokara cofounder Anne-Marie Ferreira initiated the production of olive oil on the farm, aiming to create a range of unique single-varietal oils. Harvest season for the farm is usually from mid-March until June and is hard labour as the talented team works together to create 'liquid gold'.

Tokara mainly focuses on Tuscan varieties, which have been chosen for their flavour and character. The fruits of the team's labour are currently four cold-pressed extra virgin olive oils, including two single-varietal oils and two intense multi-varietal blends.
The award-winning blend of premium extra virgin olive oil is a blend of the Coratina, Leccino, Frantoio and Mission olive oil varieties.
Tasting notes of this premium Tokara olive oil include rocket and artichoke flavours – and this is not the first note of acclaim for this oil, as it also won a gold medal at the SA Olive Awards in 2019.
