The latest creation to emerge from Neil Grantham's furniture and design studio in Johannesburg is the perfect addition to any outdoor space. Says Neil, 'The brief was to create an outdoor piece that was uncomplicated in form yet refined enough to be noticed. The profile of the steel support structure is based on the architectural principle of a "segmental arch". This principle allows for the skeleton of the bench to be minimal and simplistic yet is able to withstand a considerable amount of compressive force.' For Neil, the exposed skeleton of the structure adds a sense of sincerity to the design… and we agree! The Parque Bench is available in a range of materials to suit your needs, each complete with bespoke end-caps constructed of wood or cork. Retail prices are as follows: Stainless steel: R9 000 Powder-coated mild steel: R6 000 Stainless steel and wood: R10 000 The Parque Long Bench is also available, which is designed for large volumes of people and with open generous spaces in mind.
