Ovens with Cameras: The Future is Here
Keep and eye on the roast in the oven from your smartphone. It may sound like something from the year 3000, but Miele's Generation 7000 can do just that.
Established in 1899, Miele is an independent, family-owned company which produces a range of household appliances and is pioneering the use of advanced technology in ovens, kitchen stoves, washing machines and more.
Head of Marketing for Miele, South African Liam Gawne, explains the ethos of the cutting-edge homeware appliance provider.
'Miele’s ethos is to manufacture the highest end product. You get a lot of manufacturers in this day and age where products are quite disposable. Our ethos is to manufacture products that will last up to 20 years. We don’t just manufacture them to last forever - they must perform well,' he said
Focusing on three pillars; including seamless and beautiful design, energy efficiency and durability, Miele aims to create appliances that are known to last up to 20 years.

Catering to a minimalist, sleek and on-trend design, the new Generation 7000 range of built-in appliances is more than just aesthetically pleasing. The innovative range offers a new way of cooking and living, making it simpler and quicker.
Launched globally on 20 September 2019, the new range is the largest product launch in the history of the company.
'Generation 7000 strictly refers to cooking appliances. We have launched a new range of ovens, induction ovens, microwave combination ovens - to name a few. The new range of appliances really focuses on design, to be able to fit into latest design trends fitting into monocrhomatic spaces,' said Gawne.
Using groundbreaking technology, Miele has created three different design lines; the PureLine, VitroLine and ArtLine.
The PureLine has a modern, contemporary appeal with solid handles, low key stainless-steel trim and a classy glass front in Obsidian Black.
The VitroLine is more reserved in its design appeal, with handles the same colour as the appliance, available in Graphite Grey and Obsidian black.
The ArtLine range is designed for those looking for a more sleek and minimal design, fitted with classical door handles, available in Graphite Grey and Obsidian Black.

The Generation 7000 ovens have been fitted with a range of technological advances such as 'taste control', where overbaking and overcooking will become a thing of the past; once oven cooking is completed, the door automatically opens, allowing the oven to cool down at a rapid rate.
The Generation 7000 range also includes a 'maintenance temperature' feature, where the food stays warm and is cooked precisely.
The powerful steam oven uses DualSteam technology to seal in flavour and nutrients fast, while maintaining a uniform temperature and humidity.
Intelligent pan recognition, with a full-surface induction hob, retains the heat wherever a pot or pan is moved along the surface.
Each oven is fitted with a camera and as a world first, Miele has implemented the feature in pyrolytic self-cleaning models, enabling the technology to withstand intense heat.
The camera is able to send HD quality imaging to tablet, smartphone or PC devices.
Nearly all the appliances from the range have been Wi-Fi enabled, allowing them to work in conjunction with the Miele mobile app.
Step into the future of your kitchen, bathroom or laundry room with the new Miele Generation 7000.
