Dubbed 'the magnificent seven', the estate has released their eponymous range that includes vintages from 2016 and 2018.

the whites

Stellenbosch Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2018  This wine has been a consistent top performer. The 2017 vintage received two golds and double gold accolades and the 2018 vintage has all the characteristics that made the wine great. It is full bodied and crisp with notes of green fig, gooseberry and sweet melon aromas, and lime zest acidity. When paired with food on the sour side of the flavour profile, you can really taste the wonderful fruit flavours of the wine. Stellenbosch Hills Chenin Blanc 2018 More people are turning to Chenin Blanc as their white of choice. Wine that is as good as the Stellenbosch Hills Chenin Blanc is one of the reasons why. This medium-bodied, balanced wine has a refreshing fruity profile with crisp acidity. It has the stone-fruit nose that Chenin is known for, along with flavours of green apple, litchi and a hint of lemon zest. It is a nice, easy-drinking wine.

the reds

Stellenbosch Hills Bushvine Pinotage 2016 One of our favourites in the range, this full-bodied, complex wine has flavour combinations of blackberries, plums and mulberries. There are hints of vanilla oak, banana, dark chocolate and cigar box, while velvet tannins create a balanced palate and lingering finish. Stellenbosch Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 The perfect accompaniment to red meat or pasta, this wine shows characteristics of ripe  plum and blackcurrant. There is a subtle undertone of of French oak spice, vanilla and cigar box, making the wine more complex and elegant. Stellenbosch Hills Merlot 2016 Deep colour, full bodied and flavourful, this Merlot showcases how a wine can have good tannin integration with a concentrated mid palate. It offers a good balance between ripe red-fruit flavours and spice. Stellenbosch Hills Shiraz 2016 A lighter red than the previous wines, but just as wonderfully complex, the Shiraz spent 16 months in barrel to give it a classic red-fruit character with oak spice and hints of black pepper.

for dessert

Stellenbosch Hills Muscat de Hambourg 2016 A unique wine, Stellenbosch Hills is one of a handful of cellars that produces this varietal in the country. With red and gold undertones, the wine has a wonderful sunset colour and is fragrant and sweet. You will get notes of with candyfloss, boiled sweets, rose petals and violets. You can drink it as is or drizzle it over ice cream and strawberries for a treat.  All in all, the magnificent seven offers a great variety of wine that will satisfy, regardless of your preference.
