#HLDiscovery: Consider These Autumn Treats, Events and Excursions
A day out with the family, a dinner party where you serve something out of the ordinary, a range of products that put a smile on your face... these are more then just events and items, they are experiences. They make you feel a certain way, or create memories that you capture and hold onto in true #HLDiscovery style. From outings to products, here is what has grabbed our attention this week.
1. Friday Sunset Rouge Evenings at Alto Wine Estate
Even though the weather is a little cooler, Alto Wine Estate is still hosting Friday Sunset Rouge evenings, where guests can sip wine on the lovely lawns of the estate and enjoy live entertainment. Take in the lush vine-covered valley that drops away into distant hills and enjoy spectacular sunsets as the light changes behind views of Table Mountain and the range of peaks aligned along the westward curve of False Bay. Entry to the event is free, and visitors receive a complimentary glass of Alto Cabernet Rosé 2018 upon arrival. You can also purchase Alto wine and a cheese platter to snack on while experiencing sunset in the winelands. Sunset Rouge takes place on Fridays from 5-8pm, weather permitting.
2. Royal Botanicals Bath and Body Range
Scent may be intangible, but it has such a huge impact. When something smells good, it can lift your mood, help you relax or get you excited. That is why the Royal Botanicals bath and body and home fragrance range from @home is such a good find. The range consists of a cosmetic bag containing a skin-hydrating mist and handcream, a soy massage candle, a scented sachet and a fragranced soap. The products are created using essential oils and there are three fragrances in the range: Dutch Iris, Wild Orchid and Oriental Lily. It's all beautifully packaged and smells incredible. The handcream and hydrating mist are a must-have for handbags, and the melted soy candle wax makes a luxurious and easily absorbed massage oil. Whether you want to add a touch of fragrant happiness to your daily life or are looking for a pampering gift, the Royal Botanicals range is an excellent choice.

3. Pieces For Paws Charity Art Auction
Find decor pieces for your home and help a charity while doing so at the Pieces For Paws Charity Art Auction. This the the first major project by Giving is Living, an organisation that is trying to help in two ways. First, the money raised in the auction will go towards helping three animal charity organisations; Mdzananda Animal Clinic, Wolwerivier Outreach Work and SANCCOB. And secondly, Giving is Living looked to engage children from Khayelitsha and Wolwerivier through a project that saw them creating art from trash they collected with the help of local artists. Over 60 artists have donated work to the event, and the art the children made will be auctioned too.
The event is happening on Saturday 16 March at Atlantic Beach Country Club, Melkbosstrand. Featured artists include Anton Smit, Richard Scott, Jean Doyle, Tony de Freitas and Hennie Niemann Snr. With so many art events in the Cape, it is special to go to one with a cause. Book tickets to attend here.
