In light of the November #HLMyLuxuries issue, the House and Leisure team share their favourite – and ultimate – luxuries.

Annzra Denita, Story Editor

1. Da Hong Pao Oolong tea

Forget coffee, I have a tea addiction. I have a collection of teas, but the one that I would love to have is the original Da Hong Pao Oolong tea. It is one of the rarest most expensive teas in the world.

2. Shun Damascus Scalloped Santoku Knife

There is nothing like a good chef’s knife. It makes cooking a pleasure rather than a chore. My current favourite knife is the Shun Damascus Scalloped Santoku Knife - beautifully designed and highly functional.

3. Reading

Reading is my ultimate luxury. I always have a book on me, whether I’m travelling, relaxing, or waiting in line at the bank - Reading has the ability transform the mundane into the magical.

4. The inception round mirror, Weylandts

I would love to this mirror in my home. It's inspired by the 1970s infinity mirrors, but is contemporary and cool. Most importantly, it could be the magic mirror from Snow White, bringing a piece of fairy tale inspiration into my home.

5.  Louis XIII Cognac

One of the most memorable moments of my life, was my first sip of Louis XIII Cognac from The House of Remy Martin. Everything about it was exciting - feeling the crystal decanter, opening the seal, taking in the aromas - it  will always be one of my favourite luxuries.

6. Dim Sum at Tim Ho Wan

I am currently obsessed with dim sum, and while I have had some incredible dishes here in Cape Town would love to try Dim Sum at Tim Ho Wan in Hong Kong. With a Michelin star to their name - I can’t think of any place better in indulge in my favourite food, plus it is one of my favourite cities in the world.

1. Flaky salt

You can add flaked salt onto basics like tomato toast and suddenly the world is Gucci again. My favourite is the smoked sort.

2. Birkies

Pair house socks with sandals to create the ultimate luxury - the Birk-en–sock (this pair of Birkenstocks by Rick Owens are DEEP on my lust luxe list)

4. Magazines

When things get dull I escape from it all with some glossy pages. Preferably read somewhere with sunlight on my back.

5. Cire Trudon Candles

I’m obsessed with the historic smell of Solis Rex, the famous French candle house’s absolute finest creation inspired by the the floor polish used in the hall of mirrors at the Palace of Versailles.

6. Uber black

Life’s about the journey, so why not get from A-to-B in style?
