Since the concept was first initiated by the gifted Megan Hesse and Andrea Kleinloog back in 2010, Anatomy Design has become a name synonymous with beautiful design, timeless quality and understated luxury. It's an association that's helped the brand to grow to a point where change and expansion was essential. In 2016, the founders decided to split the two wings of the business - retail and interior design - and open a bespoke Anatomy Design store on the Keyes Art Mile in Joburg's Rosebank, while establishing the connected but separate Hesse Kleinloog (HK) Studio to undertake commercial and residential design projects.

Considering how far the business has come, we thought it was time to pay tribute to Anatomy Design by rounding up a few of our favourite furniture and decor items from the new store.
Copper Tray Table
This timeless side table
features a minimalist yet sophisticated design. Copper has long been one of our favourite materials, and in this case its combination with glass makes this a real statement piece for your living room or bedroom (R7500).
The Candice Unit
reminds us of something out of a Bond film. A contemporary take on a drinks cabinet, this sophisticated piece is fitted with glass shelves, and the combination of oak and brass give it a timeless elegance. As a buyer, you can choose to have the interior back painted in emerald green or a Plascon colour of your choice (R28 500).
Brass Lab Light
The Brass Lab Light
is now made in Copenhagen and has won Anatomy Design multiple accolades, including the title of Design Indaba's Most Beautiful Object in South Africa in 2010. and award winning product of Anatomy Design. Inspired by laboratory equipment, this brass, porcelain and steel lamp would look good in just about any room, in our opinion (R8000).
This classic brass platter
is ideal for displaying candles and cut crystal glasses or holding delicious drinks. The brass exudes a touch of glamour and has been allowed to oxidise naturally, resulting in unique markings (R2300).
Marbled Resin Tray
Alright we admit it, we have a thing for trays. This marbled beauty
would work well in either a kitchen or a bathroom, and as it's made from hand-poured resin, no two trays are alike. It's a luxurious modern accessory for a modern home (R780).
Remember all your important duties and responsibilities with the help of this any-year planner and notebook
, designed by White Kite Studio and available from Anatomy Design. A benefit is that if you're a little late on getting your annual diary, the open-dated format of this planner will allow you to start at any time (R500).
Lyngby Sugar Pot
This large sugar pot
from the Lyngby homeware range has that family heirloom kind of feel to it. The grey glass jar feels antique and is a beautiful display item for your kitchen (R1800).
Southern Guild Chair
This breath-taking blue and white armchair features fabric conceptualised by the gifted textile designer and fine artist Nicole Levenberg
of Aureum Design
. Not only is it a statement piece but it's also perfect to laze on due to its impressive scale. Form follows function in this design, but with added style and a splash of colour (R35 000).
