2. La Petite Maison
This little eatery has loads of character and is creating a real buzz in on Melville's famed 7th Avenue strip. It's also all about using fine local ingredients from small-scale producers. Expect stylish Italian-inspired dishes such as Magaliesberg pork belly, springbok tartare and prosciutto with figs.
3. Momo Kuro
The latest addition to the Momo chain of Joburg restaurants is a hidden gem. Momo Kuro, which translates from Japanese as ’black dumpling’, is something of a secret hideaway, with its entrance through a door that reads ‘exit’ on its exterior. Once inside, diners are treated to an incredible interior that features an installation of brass poles backed by a black, high-gloss panel that continues throughout the restaurant, creating wonderful reflections of the extraordinary views outside the windows. Food-wise, expect a sampling of the best of the other Momo restaurants' offerings, as well as poké bowls, tapas-style dishes and elaborate dim sum creations.
4. Van Der Linde

Van Der Linde has vegan and vegetarian menus and offers delicious sweet treats for a variety of dietary preferences. It's a good idea to book well in advance, especially over weekends, when the morning Harvest Table brings the crowds.
