Fabrication #artcrawl with Mary CorrigallWHEN: Saturday 17 December 2016 WHERE: Clarke's Bookshop, Long Street, Cape Town WHAT TO EXPECT: Following a successful inaugural #artcrawl in November, art critic, consultant and curator Mary Corrigall is hosting the second edition in the series, this time under the theme 'Fabrication'. Starting at Clarke's Bookshop in Cape Town's CBD, the walking and talking tour will take a small group of no more than 15 people to various galleries and studios in the city, all the while exploring the concept of textile art and the distinction between art and design. Transformation Group Show
Image Credit: Southern Guild GalleryWHEN: Thursday 24 November 2016 – Monday 20 February 2017 WHERE: Southern Guild Gallery, Cape Town WHAT TO EXPECT: Transformation is a show that explores the space between art and design, with 15 South African artists exhibiting their interpretation. Curated by Southern Guild gallery cofounder Julian McGowan, the exhibition challenges traditional understandings of art and questions where functional design begins. Expect works by sculptor Adam Birch, ceramicist Chuma Maweni and blacksmith Conrad Hicks.
New Horizons by Cuss GroupWHEN: Thursday 1 December – Thursday 15 December 2016 WHERE: Stevenson Gallery, Johannesburg WHAT TO EXPECT: Cuss Group has collaborated with commercial services from Nash Studio, Julius Decor, Sunset Casting and Bambanani Photo to bring you an exhibition that revolves around image composition, production and consumption. The artist collective will be presenting a series of wallpapers and wall hangings, a triptych and cut-out displays as well as videos.
Cap Classique and Champagne Festival

It’s an event for the whole family, with film viewings happening throughout the week, an exhibition and surfboard artwork for sale.
Jozi Food Truck Fest 2016

Journey to the One by Mongezi NcaphayiWHEN: Thursday 1 December 2016 – Saturday 14 January 2017 WHERE: Smac Gallery, Johannesburg WHAT TO EXPECT: A 2013 Absa L’Atelier Gerard Sekoto Award-winner, Mongezi Ncaphayi has departed from his characteristic print-making technique to showcase a series of works on paper. Journey to the One will reflect the artist’s minimalist style and intricate use of line and colour with thought-provoking abstraction.
