artful destruction with clay and ceramic

clay and ceramicZemer Peled is changing the way we view ceramic and clay. An Israeli artist who carefully layers shards of ceramic to exquisite large-scale sculptures. Peled's pieces create the illusion of movement. The layered shards reflect a texture that is both delicate yet severe. Peled explores the  beauty and brutality of the natural world in her pieces, and a theme of identity, memories and place can be identified. An unconventional approach to an age-old practice, but such ground breaking pieces are changing our views upon the manipulation of ceramic materials. Zemer completed her  BA (Hons) at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem she graduated with an MA (Hons) from the Royal College of Art. Such beautiful works have been displayed in galleries like Sotheby’s and Saatchi Gallery-London and the Orangerie du Senate (Paris).
