We’re counting down the hours for this new addition to the neighbourhood! Nestled opposite Cavendish Square and sharing the pavements with familiar favourites like Habits and Cigar, the latest Mungo and Jemima boutique is certainly in good company. Creative duo, Marion Park-Ross of Good and Kirsty Bannerman of Coppelia, welcome their second retail space (the first-born being in Long Street) gushing rows of hangers laden with established labels, textured fabrics and sensible price tags. Mungo and Jemima has long been known for its discerning range of off-beat clothing flaunting everything from billowing hemlines and tailored playsuits to feathered headbands, buttery leather shoes and ceramic jewellery. ‘We really feel that we represent the designers that we house, you can clearly see what a designer is all about by just stepping through the threshold of our store. By committing to selective selecting, we choose designers who share the M&J aesthetic and customer, bringing together an all encompassing defined fashion statement to all who come into contact with our brand’. With trademark brands including I love Leroy, Take Care, Michelle Ludek, Selfi, Margot Molyneux, Unknown, Robyn Caris, Spilt Milk and swimwear by LoveWaterLove, this designer partnership is racking up the local talent. Inspired jewels are sourced from Skermunkil, Collect and Peter Eastman, and are complemented by accessories from covetable Cape Town-based labels such as Hello Sailor, Missibaba and Kate & Allie. Doors open on Saturday, 5 November at 9:30 am. For more information visit mungoandjemima.com or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
