If you’ve been following the exciting first season of MasterChef South Africa, you’ll love the concept behind the Wednesday night dinners, brought to you by chefs from Tsogo Sun hotel group. The idea is that every Wednesday night Tsogo Sun chefs will treat guests to delectable dishes that are similar to those created by the contestants on the show the previous night. Viewers will know Benny Masekwameng, one of the MasterChef judges, who joined Tsogo Sun in 2006 and is currently the Executive Chef at its MondoVino Restaurant at the Piazza at Montecasino. The MasterChef SA winner will also receive the ‘right of use’ of this restaurant, which is equipped to the value of R7 million, for the duration of two years. Managing Director at Tsogo Sun Hotels, Graham Wood, says that, ‘The Wednesday night dinners are proving to be very successful with the front office staff setting the scene wearing chefs’ attire and the chef’s really rising to the challenge’. If you’d like to sample a taste of the magnificent culinary fare, the Wednesday night dinners are taking place at the following Southern Sun hotels in your region, until the final week of the MasterChef show (17 July 2012): Gauteng: Southern Sun Hyde Park Sandton, Southern Sun Montecasino, Southern Sun OR Tambo International Airport Hotel, Southern Sun Pretoria and the SunSquare Montecasino Hotel.
