Architect Charles Jackson guided the renovations, which involved gutting the existing structure and constructing a brand-new modern space. On the lower level are two en-suite bedrooms and a lounge; a sleekly modern kitchen, dining room, guest suite and ‘all-important wraparound roof deck’ occupy the upper level. Maximising the 270-degree views are retractable glass shutter doors that open to a potted garden, braai, outside shower and pool. Despite its lofty position, the penthouse offers a unique connection to the city below. The owners appreciate the sense of perspective: ‘You can see around you and where you fit into the grid.’ WHO John Clark and Alicia Thompson BY Charles Jackson Architects, charlesjackson.co.za http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=3WHqs1uUMLc If this home is your favourite, vote for it now and stand a chance to win home appliances from Siemens to the value of R30 000!
