spring plant sale

Get your gardening fix…

The Johannesburg Garden Club’s annual plant sale is upon us again. If your obsession is of the leafy green variety, or if you’d simply love a day out shopping, eating and drinking, then here’s your excuse.

With a wide selection of plants on sale by the club’s members, one in particular will be the star attraction of the event- the Acer Palmatum, or Japanese Maple, with its deep russet leaves and elegant form. Besides doing a bit of retail therapy for your garden, the fair also offers visitors a tea garden, lunch garden and champagne and salmon bar. And, if your heart desires more of a retail kick, this year features the ‘Portobello Road’ antiques market, where you’ll be tempted with a host of vintage collectables.

Aside from satisfying your gardening desires, the sale proceeds go to Johannesburg Child Welfare – so you can feel good about spending too.

The JGC Annual Plant Sale takes place on Saturday 15 September, from 8am to 5pm at 9 Bryanston Drive, Bryanston. Entrance to the fair is R15.
