New Opulent Living Store On Kloof St
Posted: 18 November 2016
Opulent Living, the brand behind the magazine that features the most luxurious lifestyle content, has opened a new concept store and gallery in Kloof Street, Cape Town. The store has found its niche on one of Cape Town’s most ‘boutique’ streets and was remodelled under the expert guidance of top interior designer, Sarah Ord. Stark emerald green lines every wall, creating a relaxing interior feel that is offset in places by rich sapphire blue.
“It’s the perfect fit for our brand,” says Opulent Living co-founder, Barbara Lenhard. “I have always loved Sarah’s work, and we are so excited to have worked with her on this important project.”The store itself was designed to highlight Opulent Living’s key pillars: lifestyle, art and travel. On display is artwork by South African artists as well as lifestyle products and items that reflect luxurious living.
“We are sourcing and choosing products which we feel fit under the umbrella ‘the finer things in life’ and we are excited and proud that from handbags and jewellery to selected fashion items and opulent gifts – all under one roof to tickle the fancy of the discerning customer. It’s all about accessible luxury, we have curated a covetable mix that I feel will appeal to a vast range of shoppers.” explains Barbara. At the Opulent Living store, you’ll see handcrafted jewellery from ANPA, designs created from the original fence on Robben Island, by the Legacy Collection, exquisitely crafted handbags from luxury ostrich leather house, Mvari, as well as colourful creations from the Italian-made Save My Bag range. Beautiful Taunina bears, each handmade and embroidered by local women, will grace the shelves, too. There’s also designer menswear from British fashion label Grays London, established in 1927, recently launched in South Africa, as well as the colourful women’s wear collection, Resort. Works by prominent South African artists, Jean Doyle, Jimmy Law, Marieke Prinsloo, Richard Scott, Michaela Rinaldi and German-born wildlife art photographer, Klaus Tiedge, are currently on sale.
“It’s long been my dream to have a concept store that could showcase some of the amazing art, destinations and products on offer, particularly from the inspiring African continent,” says Barbara, who once owned a retail store in Germany. “This new store brings the key ingredients in our brand together in one beautiful, opulent space that celebrates the best of lifestyle, art and travel - simply the finer things in life.”The store is located at 24 Kloof Street, Gardens, Cape Town and is open from 10H00 until 17H30 on weekdays and until 14H00 on a Saturday.
