The Light exhibition opens on 3 June 2014 and will be held at The Clay Museum at Rust-en-Vrede in Durbanville.
This year-long, continually changing exhibition (in celebration of Cape Town as World Design Capital 2014) will feature a variety of mediums over the next few months, with June specifically focusing on ceramics and the use of light in sculpture. Five talented ceramic artists will be exhibiting their creations, namely Betsy Nield, Ralph Johnson, Christina Bryer, Yvonne Thurtell and Sarah Walters, together with exciting up-and-coming photography students from the Ruth Prowse Art School.
Curator, Ann Marais says, ‘This new format of combining creative input from diverse artists – young artists and seasoned professionals – promises to be an exciting, magical collaboration exploring light.’
