Top South African illustrators have created limited edition posters of their favourite Cape Town iconography – be it the pretty Woodstock buildings, or a quirky (and somewhat personified with eyes and a mouth) Table Mountain. Whichever local hang-out spots you feel affiliated to, there’s something for everyone. There’s even the suspended turtle, for National Museum denizens.
At R120 each, it’s a fab deal for original artwork. And what Capetonian doesn’t want an edgy rendition of their beloved city, hanging in their home? It also makes a great gift, while supporting local creatives. Hurry though! The deal is up by Friday, as part of a CityMob and Cape Town Tourism promotion.
Between 10and5, an online showcase of design, did a fine job curating the artists for this project. Here is their top-notch list: Chris Slabber, Bruce Mackay, Michael Tymbios, Jaco Haasbroek, Simon Berndt (of One Horse Town) and Daniel Ting Chong.
To purchase your very own masterpiece, head over to this site. CityMob is a group buying initiative which runs amazing promotions for Cape Town citizens; everything you could want from half-priced pizza to art!
