Luxury is the order of the day in the November issue of House and Leisure. For 2018, we believe that luxury is going to be about extremes: pockets of technology-free calmness contrasted with high-impact, tech-fuelled moments. At the same time, luxury is about longevity, quality materials and sustainability. Inspired by this, we’ve found our favourite watches stocked by Picot and Moss that exude opulence.
Rose gold, diamonds, mother-of-pearl… these materials just emanate luxury in a very stylish way indeed. With its delicate curves, the Ladies’ Kalpa Piccola watch by Parmigiani is refined and feminine – a classic timepiece and a fashionable piece of jewellery, all in one.
Inspired by the legendary Swiss Army knife, this Maverick Ladies’ watch by Victorinox has a sporty yet elegant character. Apart from its polished looks, the watch is adaptable to a variety of situations, while its angular profile gives it a dramatic edge. Our favourite is the gleaming green and gold version.
Inspired by light, the Lucea watch by Bulgari pays homage to the sundial. A mother-of-pearl face is punctuated by bezel-set diamonds, and gold-plated hands add an extra element of luxury. Its 18-ct rose gold crown is set with a pink gemstone cabochon, and a diamond in the centre – the final touch on this beautifully bejewelled piece.
Gucci’s Tornabuoni watch is named after the birthplace of Gucci, which is now one of Florence’s most famous and exclusive streets. Simple yet stylish, this watch has the allure of a jewel and its rectangular face adds a certain edginess – the Tornabuoni collection is available in three different cases: square, rectangular and oval. We love the delicate feel of the embossed face and chain-linked bracelet.
Designed by Chinese actress and Frederique Constant brand ambassador Shu Qi, Frederique Constant’s Ladies Automatic Open Heartbeat watch features rose gold, mother-of-pearl and diamond detailing. Taking the concept of open-heart design literally, the watch has an avant-garde aesthetic and provides a fascinating look into its inner workings.
