Right now, Nitida Wine Farm’s signature Cassia Restaurant is ticking all of our boxes. First off, you’re abe to achieve total weekend zen by taking in views of the beautiful Durbanville Wine Valley where Cassia is situated.
Next, you’re acquainted with the French-inspired menu (only in taste, not in portion sizes). Chef proprietor Warren Swaffield and his team have created a unique taste experience comprised in a menu of white asparagus – we’re surprised at just how versatile this vegetable can be! More tender and sweeter than its green counterpart, this is what real asparagus fundis hanker after.
Here are a few of the uncomplicated, yet robust offerings: For beginners – Asparagus soup with herbed croutons and biltong. For a decadent indulgence – The steamed white asparagus covered in the totally French, orange hollandaise sauce.
For fish lovers – Smoked salmon and asparagus tian with lemon and herb creme fraiche. For the waist watchers – A grilled asparagus salad, with cherry tomatoes, figs, goats cheese, Parma ham, and a honey vinaigrette. For the hungry – A seared salmon with nicoise and asparagus salad. Last but never the least (not on our watch), pair these feasts with a bottle of one of Nitida’s award-winning wines.
