Take a trip to Franschhoek this weekend for the annual Bastille Festival celebrations.
In true French style, the start of the revolution is celebrated with copious amounts of bubbly and delectable cuisine. The largest attraction is the famed Food and Wine tent but, as we all know, Franschhoek is home to several award-winning restaurants where you’ll also be able to indulge to the max.
The Barrel Rolling Competition and the Boules Competition (hosted by the SPCA) will help you keep warm, or you can simply stroll through the Farmer’s Market and craft stalls.
The Bastille Festival takes place from 12 July to 13 July 2014 at the Huguenot Monument in Franschhoek. Entrance to the Food and Wine Marquee costs R200 on the Saturday and R180 on the Sunday. Remember to book early to avoid disappointment.
