Kelly Wearstler is famous for her eclectic designs, and highly acclaimed within the international world of interiors. Her style is a striking mix between contemporary and vintage, and her passion for interweaving the two is reflected throughout her lifestyle brand.
Her latest collection for The Rug Company has just been released, and the collaboration between her and the highly skilled crafters at the brand has once again proven beautifully successful. The two new pieces – the Staccato and the Wake – have been made using age-old weaving techniques in the Kathmandu area, and combine raw textures with refined aesthetics to make for rugs that are a covetable home must-have.
Both Wake and Staccato were made from Wearstler’s hand-painted designs and are spun from Tibetan wool and fine silk, so these creations exude glamour and sophistication.
Staccato uses subdued hues to create a sense of depth and movement. It’s both understated and eye-catching.
‘I am consistently inspired by raw, painterly silhouettes. The graceful imperfections and idiosyncrasies of hand-painted designs possess so much soul,’ says Kelly Wearstler
Wake was inspired by the movement of water, where darker lines are layered upon lighter hues to create depth and dynamism. It’s the perfect contrast to the Staccato design, but is still as elegant and sophisticated.
