The Maxhosa by Laduma range of knitwear has become a cult brand, and is as loved for its jerseys as it is for beautiful homeware. But what goes into making the products that we all covet? From working from his bedroom while studying at Nelson Mandela University, to running a fully-fledged business that operates around the globe, Maxhosa's growth is truly one of the most inspiring design stories to come out of South Africa.

To understand the brand's manufacturing process, House and Leisure went behind the doors of the Maxhosa workshop in downtown Johannesburg where the small but enterprising team produce their colourful creations. Watch the video below where we talk to Maxhosa founder Laduma Ngxokolo about the 'Maxhosa Africa' range, which recently premiered at African Fashion International's Johannesburg Fashion Week.
