belts and buttons

Our favourite current decor trend…

If you haven’t yet read our 2012 Trend Report in our January/ February issue, we highly recommend that you turn to page 32 for all the hottest trend predictions for this year.

The first trend on our radar that we’ll be covering in Naomi’s Choice is that of belts and buttons, which are being used beyond a practical sense and more for their aesthetic appeal. Taking a leaf out of Enrico Zanolla and Andrea Di Filippo of DZStudio’s book, following their innovative Clamp Lamp, this trend is making inroads into the local design scene too.

We’ve seen a number of interior and decor stores mimicking and reinventing the trend, as they incorporate buttons, buckles and leather straps into their products. From deep-buttoned furniture to leather strap finishings and button details, there seem to be endless ways of mixing it up.

Let us know if you’ve spotted any products that follow suit via Twitter or Facebook.
