Illustrated place mats

We've got some exciting news - to celebrate the launch of our third House and Leisure Food issue, we've collaborated with the very talented Cape Town-based illustrator, Brice Reignier, to produce some exquisite 'plates' for the magazine. Brice's handiwork can be seen throughout the issue in the four opening shots, namely for the 'Easy Living' (page 15), 'Summer' (page 41), 'Winter Warmth' (page 65 ), and 'Luxury' (page 89) sections, as well as on our eye-catching cover. Five minutes with Brice Reignier: What’s your best food-and-drink pairing? Pizza and red wine. If you weren’t an illustrator, you’d be… If climbing trees were an Olympic sport, I’d be an athlete. What’s the most challenging dish you’ve ever made? I once made a ricotta and courgette cannelloni, which turned out great. I’ve tried baking but with far less success. Favourite breakfast? I’m a traditionalist: coffee. And if it comes with savoury edible bits, that’s great, too. Taste you’ll never forget? Brioche praline from the bakery in Gannat, a small town in Auvergne, France. How to download and use your place mat: 1. Download our exclusive illustrated 'plates' to use at home by clicking on one of the links below and saving the PDF once it has opened. 2. Print the PDF out in A3 format. (If you are unable to print in A3 you can have your place mat printed at your nearest local printing shop.) 3. Cut along the lines around the 'plate' illustration. 4. Enjoy your new place mats!
